The MIB master celebrates its 20th anniversary

In 2001 the master’s degree ” Technologies and Projects in Biochemical Engineering »(TPGB) opened and 13 students were part of the first promotion… an opportunity for the superstitious to say that it brought luck to the training !!

It is true that at the time, launching a master’s degree with dual competence in science and project management was original, we owe it above all to the professor. Norbert Latruffe who had proposed and defended the project. Patrick Dutartre, international project manager within Laboratoires Fournier and passionate about training and innovation projects, had agreed to take charge of structuring the idea.

TPGB then offered 4 value units including 3 scientific aspects and one dedicated to management aspects. Tutored projects were carried out from ideas presented by the students alone or in groups of 2 to 3 people. Since that time, training has evolved continuously to come as close as possible to the needs of the two parties involved: students and future employers.

  • Change of the name of the training which became, thanks to the 2008 class, Management and Innovation in Biotechnologies (MIB) in order to replace the initial name whose meaning appeared abstruse to the candidates!
  • Creation of a new teaching unit called “Formalization of innovative projects”. From an experiment conducted by the Professor Mustapha Cherkaoui, the decision was taken to propose each year a promotional project aimed at creating a fictitious innovative company on a topical subject chosen by the trainers.
  • Arrival in the management group of Brigitte Sabart which trains and supports students in all aspects of communication and operational management.
Development of collaboration with the University of Lorraine under the leadership of Patrick Dutartre and Herve Schohn with cross-presentation of promotion projects.
  • Structuring of the Biochallenge student association with the objective of integrating all students interested in project management.
  • Handover to Pierre Andreoletti and arrival of Daniel Micard as an associate professor at the retirement of Patrick Dutartre, the latter retaining voluntary activities of supporting students in their life projects and looking for internships.
  • Edition of a quarterly MIB newsletter, now coordinated by Anne Véjux with the participation of trainers and students.
  • Passage to work-study program thanks to the investment of Pierre Andreoletti who knew, even in an environment disturbed by COVID, to carry out the administrative file in collaboration with the continuing education service of the University.

The Master MIB, through its continuous development and its future projects in particular with the contacts initiated with the ISIFC in Besançon, has managed to maintain its initial strategy of putting students and their future projects at the center of its efforts, while maintaining close links with the professional worlds of the public and private spheres.

Our ambition is that the anniversary day be a privileged moment of exchange and development of future collaborations between the various actors involved in Innovation and passionate about the development and attractiveness of our Bourgogne Franche Comté region.
