The Mexican Baseball Fiesta 2024 in the “Valley of the Sun” was officially presented at a press conference held at American Family Field in Phoenix, the preseason home of the Milwaukee Brewers, which will once again be one of the preseason venues for the Naranjeros de Hermosillo and other teams in the ARCO Mexican Pacific League along with Camelback Ranch Stadium, the preseason home in Glendale of the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers.
The event held in Phoenix was attended by Jorge Mendoza, Consul General of Mexico in Phoenix, Eng. Pablo de la Peña, General Director of Naranjeros de Hermosillo, Francisco Gámez, Sports Manager of Naranjeros, Juan Gabriel Castro, Manager of Naranjeros, Carlos Valencia representative of the Yaquis of Ciudad Obregón, as well as representatives of the stadiums hosting this edition and sponsors of the event.
After the presentation of the authorities came the announcement of the teams that will participate this year in the games in Phoenix and Glendale: Naranjeros de Hermosillo, Águilas de Mexicali, Mayos de Navojoa and Yaquis de Ciudad Obregón.
Consul Mendoza commented on the importance of having a sporting event like the Mexican Baseball Fiesta in Phoenix, as it is a family spectacle for a macro region like Sonora-Arizona, with a large Mexican presence in Arizona.
Francisco Gámez, Sports Manager of Naranjeros and founder of the Mexican Baseball Fiesta spoke about how the games will be held with the first in Phoenix on September 26 at the American Family Field in Phoenix with the duel between Naranjeros and Yaquis de Obregón and later on the weekend of September 27-29 in Glendale with the presence of the Orange Squad, Ciudad Obregón as well as Mayos de Navojoa and Águilas de Mexicali, he also reported that in addition to baseball there will be a musical show with groups such as Contacto Norte, Tropicalísimo Apache and La Brissa.
For his part, Eng. Pablo de la Peña, General Manager of Naranjeros, thanked the fans for their presence and support not only at the Mexican Baseball Fiesta but at any event held in Arizona.
Likewise, Naranjero manager Juan Gabriel Castro invited fans to attend this great show that is the Mexican Baseball Fiesta.
