The president-mayor of the Métropole de Montpellier, Michaël Delafosse, announces that the city council scheduled for March will deliberate on the creation of a new economic development agency. Under construction for several months, the facility will integrate 4 to 5 intercommunes into its governance: the agglos of Lodévois and Larzac, the Hérault Valley and Clermontais have already voted in this direction, while the Pic Saint-Loup will speak shortly. The Sète and Agde area, which has its own agency, will not be a member, but will be associated with its attractiveness actions. “We will energize each territory by attracting companies and we will work to keep them,” notes Michaël Delafosse. Among the agency’s other priorities is the acceleration of post-incubation businesses “to help them cross the threshold of 10 or 15 employees” and support for the ecological and international transition. It will be housed in the new Halle French Tech in Montpellier, which is also scheduled to open in 2023.
