The metropolis of Lyon supports cyclists in the region for their positive impact on the economy and ecological transition. It has premises located in Villeurbanne to host Grand Plateau, a third place that provides offices and services to companies in the sector.
The Grand Plateau is a new place destined to welcome companies operating in the sector of active mobility and more specifically of the bicycle. VSEs, SMEs and welcomed artisans have access to shared workspaces and equipment. They can talk to each other, share skills. All in a dynamic environment, conducive to the creation and development of your business.
The aim of this third place is to facilitate the growth of existing players and amplify the impact of the bicycle sector on the regional economy.. The Métropole de Lyon provides the building with an area of 8,000 m² for a period of 5 years. It supports the development of these enterprises, which create jobs in the region and play a crucial role in the ecological transition.
The Great Plateau welcomes 10 residents from June 2022. 20 additional facilities are expected to join the adventure by summer 2023. Hosted companies are manufacturers of cargo bikes, electric bikes, accessories, a distributor of bike washing solutions, etc.
