Dealers in Germany have been able to WhatsApp Business

as an additional shopping channel for your customers. In your company profile you can list your products and services in a catalog. A shopping button has now been introduced that allows users to access the catalog directly in the chat – without having to go through the company profile. Customers can call up and select products in the chat window and order them directly in the chat. The icon is located where the icon for voice calls was previously to be found and looks like a shop window.

In addition, WhatsApp has now also introduced a shopping basket function (‘Carts’). As in the online shop, users can select multiple items and store them in the shopping cart. You then send your order to the dealer via Whatsapp as a message. The actual order and payment processing are currently carried out in Germany on a separate page.

WhatsApp reports that during the pandemic, it became apparent that companies need fast and efficient ways to sell their products and interact with their customers. Messenger is an uncomplicated and convenient solution that is particularly suitable for this and is enjoying increasing popularity. “Our studies show that customers prefer to message a company directly when they need help and are more likely to buy when they can”, emphasizes the group. More than 175 million people would send a message to a WhatsApp business account every day. Therefore, the shopping functions are to be expanded even further. For business customers, fees will be charged for some WhatsApp services in the future, the company reports. Details have not yet been announced.
