A message was circulated among WhatsApp users in Egypt, stating that the application will impose fees on its users, starting next Saturday, days after naive messages spread among Facebook users about algorithms and codes, and were later proven to be incorrect.
The text of this message stated:
Saturday morning WhatsApp correspondence will become paid. If you have 30, or thirty, addresses on WhatsApp, send them this message. In this way, you will be considered a regular user of WhatsApp and you will have a logo that is a blue circle. Your correspondence and calls remain free.
This new procedure was talked about by the WhatsApp administration today on the French channel TF1, where there will be a financial fee estimated at 5.1 dollars for each message (one point five dollars).
Send this message to thirty people using WhatsApp. When it is sent to thirty people, there will be a blue light (if you do not do this, the use of WhatsApp will be paid for).
Meta Company immediately denied the news circulating, and confirmed that WhatsApp will not impose any fees on its users, and there is no French channel with this name.
