The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV It is the star company’s largest electric SUV. At the top of a vast range made up of the EQA, EQB, EQC and EQE SUVs, this model has virtually no direct rivals in the F-segment (representative SUV), a category in which neither Audi nor BMW has entered with zero-emission offerings.
If the EQS SUV alone hardly has any competition, its upcoming Mercedes-Maybach luxury version will be practically unique. This true flagship will be launched on the market in mid-2023, becoming the first utility power company to receive such a variant.
The spy images that illustrate this article prove it to us its development is very advanced. Although it cannot be seen in test drives due to camouflage, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV will differ from other EQS SUVs by using a blind grille with vertical slats; Additionally, the manufacturer’s badge will disappear from the grille to be placed on the bonnet.
The bumpers will be specific and the C-pillar will sport Maybach logos. Obviously it will have a very wide range of wheels, including those of the “Bowl” type with very short five spokes. Initially, the cabin can have a 2+2 (single rear seats) or 2+3 (long bench) configuration, as the third row of seats available in the standard Mercedes-Benz will disappear.
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV will offer a level of luxury worthy of a Rolls-Royce
Currently, the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is available in three versions: 450+ (Rear-wheel Drive), 450 4MATIC (all-wheel drive) e 580 4MATIC (four-wheel drive). The 450 versions offer an output of 360 bhp (265 kW), although the 4MATIC model has more torque (800 Nm versus 568 Nm). The 580 4MATIC for its part achieves 544 hp (400 kW) and 858 Nm.
All EQS SUVs are equipped with a 107.8 kWh battery pack, which allows the 450+ to homologate a maximum of 664 km WLTP. The 450 4MATIC and 580 4MATIC remain with 603 and 602 km WLTP respectively. Instead, it can charge at 200 kW of direct current power (10-80% in 31 minutes).
Most likely, Mercedes-Maybach shares mechanical parts with the 580 4MATICalthough its range will certainly be lower due to its greater weight, since it will show finishes and equipment of the highest level, ranking on the level of Bentley and Rolls-Royce, which will launch their own electric SUVs at the end of the decade.
