The alpine skiers’ World Cup slalom in Zagreb, Croatia, was canceled due to unfavorable conditions. They interrupted the first round of the race, which they moved from Wednesday to Thursday, several times. However, even after multiple modifications of the track, the conditions did not improve and so the jury decided to cancel the competition.

The first race was completed by 19 slalom skiers, led by Norwegian Sebastian Foss-Solevaag.

The men’s slalom in Zagreb was originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday, but the organizers canceled it just before the start of the first round due to unfavorable weather conditions. High temperatures have prevailed in the Sljeme resort for several days, which has affected the quality of the mat.

Already on Tuesday, the women had difficult conditions, scratches and holes were formed in the soft ground, and their strong winds also complicated their rides. The slalom was finally won by the Slovak Petra Vlhová, who triumphed in Zagreb for the third time in a row.
