A gold mine for collectors. This is how we could define the auction which takes place this Sunday, June 20, in Poitiers (Vienne). Nearly 180 lots are presented, from the mansion of the descendants of the Gondouin family, former directors of the Gien earthenware factory.
“This place belonged to the grandchildren of Jeanne Gondouin (1851-1942), who bear the name of her husband, Gabriel Langlois de Rubercy. She comes from a long family line at the head of the earthenware factory of Gien in the second mid-19th century His grandfather, Charles Geoffroy (1793-1871), was one of the first directors, says auctioneer Aymeric Rouillac. It’s more than a collector’s house, it’s a house full of life. There are more than 150 years of collection. We pay homage to a certain art of living. “And here are five objects that represent it.
