The team of Daugavpils “Noah Jurmala” (successor of Daugavpils “Lokomotiv”), surrounded by scandals, won an appeal at the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS) for not admitting the unit to the Latvian Football Super League. However, a month ago the club suspended its participation in the Latvian championship in both classic and indoor football.
For several violations, “Noah Jurmala” club was banned from registering new players, so in several matches it was not possible to complete a full-fledged team.
In August, taking into account significant and repeated violations, as well as non-fulfillment of its duties as a member, the LFF Board decided to suspend the participation of the association “FC Noah Jurmala” as a member of the LFF until the next congress. In accordance with the statutes of the LFF, it will address the issue of expulsion of the respective member from the LFF.
This decision was made on the basis of the obligations of a LFF member violated by “Noah Jurmala” and stipulated in the LFF statutes. The range of violations includes a set of information on involvement in manipulations of match results, for which the club representatives have previously received relevant LFF disqualifications and on the basis of which the State Police has initiated criminal proceedings. Outstanding debts to former representatives of the club staff and players, other LFF members “Dinamo Rīga” and LFF are also valid.
LFF also points out that there have been several cases in LFF’s records when “Noah Jurmala” has deliberately concealed the players’ true contract status, but received information from the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs that the club employs and applied for Optibet Super League 2021 season. persons for whom residence permits and the right to employment have not been requested / issued, as well as entry visas have not been issued at the consular missions of the Republic of Latvia.
Earlier, the board of LFF invited “Noah Jurmala” officials to a meeting to discuss the information available in the public space about the situation in the club and the fulfillment of membership obligations under the LFF statutes, to which no response or information was received. The club has also repeatedly ignored the requests of the LFF administration for information, as well as the calls of the LFF committees to provide explanations regarding the applications of third parties against the club.
Thus, the LFF Board has concluded that “Noah Jurmala” has repeatedly violated the LFF Statute, that the member is obliged to fully comply with the statutes, rules, instructions and decisions issued by the competent FIFA, UEFA and LFF bodies, as well as orders and other regulatory or regulatory documents. , and ensure that they are respected by their own members, coaches, officials and players. Also, the respective member no longer fulfills the established obligation to participate in competitions or other activities organized by LFF, especially in sports activities.
In accordance with the statutes of the LFF, the member in question is not released from financial and other obligations towards the LFF or other members of the LFF, but loses all rights vis-à-vis the LFF.
