The formation of the new group of commissioners of the re-elected President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, is underway, with the deadline for the submission of nominations expiring at the end of August.
With that date fast approaching, and now that Ursula von der Leyen has returned from her summer vacation in Germany, Politico is publishing a list of the candidates that are known so far. It is recalled that all of them, except von der Leyen herself, must be approved by the European Parliament. Eight countries have not yet made a formal proposal.
