BOLOGNA – He signed his resignation on Monday evening, November 18th Federico Piazza23 years old, elected with Fratelli d’Italia in June. Since Monday he has no longer been part of the Zola Predosa municipal council. He had served in the Unione Forze Identitarie, the association of white supremacists that had weapons, training camps and recruitment centers scattered throughout Italy, uncovered by an investigation by the Rome prosecutor’s office. Piazza at the time, in 2021, was head of the Bolognese cell: the proceedings against him have just ended, with a plea agreement.
The resignation
“We asked him to sign his resignation because clearly with a crime of this type behind him he could not sit inside the institutions. He understood it very well”, comments his now former group leader in Zola Predosa, the Forza supporter Stefano Lelli.

In the brochures of the Identity Forces Union, divided into fifty lessons, they spoke of “forming a new society” where “ill-formed, deformed, gay, Down, mixed-race, children of political opponents, Siamese twins and the like” were “aborted”.
In the organisation’s manifesto, which provides indoctrination in fifty lessons, we read sentences such as: “If the rapes are committed by Europeans, the mother will have her child taken away after giving birth and if she does not want to keep it, it will be entrusted to the care of the State”.

“When I realized I reported them and they threatened me with death”
Since the case broke out, Piazza hasn’t wanted to talk to anyone and has even left social media. To those who spoke to him, he explained that all contacts with this network took place via chat, there would never be physical meetings. “He was eighteen years old at the time, when he realized where he had ended up he reported it and received death threats in exchange. He made a mistake and bitterly regretted it,” Lelli comments. The mayor of Zola Predosa Davide Dall’Olmo he comments: “We always think that these are distant things, but in this country there continue to be people who cultivate subversive plans and lure very young people. They are delusional ideas, which give the measure of a worrying social drift. Above all because it manages to make inroads into some more fragile and predisposed young people. We found it in our little village of 19 thousand souls.”
In June Piazza was attacked in a service station, returning from an electoral rally by Giorgia Meloni, because he was wearing the T-shirt of Fuan, the MSI youth organisation. At the time he had received solidarity from Lollobrigida and Bignami.
