It was the year of many things, but certainly also the year of Marcel van Roosmalen and Gijs Groenteman. They had with Another day an almost daily hit podcast, have come out with a new season of Average inside – now also live, and could be seen on Santo Stefano with their theatrical program The caravan of pancakes, a story as successful as it is static about an enterprise that rarely failed. And then on December 30, they started a new tradition too: The media inside the New Year’s show.
In absence of Seafront this was by far the best annual overview of a less-than-fun year. They then had faithful friends of the program as guests at the table: Britt Dekker and Emma Wortelboer, two women who can rarely be caught with an obvious opinion.
That’s how equestrian Britt Dekker — in her favorite red talk-show sweater — likened the show HLF8 after the departure of Johnny de Mol with a dead horse “and you can’t saddle a dead horse”. And Emma Wortelboer – in a sweater with so many holes that the director had put a glass in front of the most emotional parts – coldly reproached the conductor Marcel van Roosmalen on his presentation of Marcel’s note part: “A little more serious next time “.
Of all the nasty comments, ‘The Year of Shooting Stars’ has been expertly bridged, from celebrities falling off their pedestals to completely childish entertainment like the balloon show Jump. The unofficial roast of Omroep Maxbaas Jan Slagter, a favorite target of Groenteman and Van Roosmalen, seemed a little too much of a personal showdown to Lips, but otherwise the Media within the New Year’s show all other superfluous annual returns.
