A total of eight combined, representative of the main media of the state, will be animating this event that is unique at the media level.

With the organization of the Mayor’s Office of San Cristóbal, in addition to a select Organizing Committee, this soccer contest is back, reaching its eighth edition.

The squads of Disjockeo Deportivo, National College of Journalists (CNP), Sinergia, Contacto, Buenísima and Cantv have already been confirmed, the only thing left is waiting for another two novenas whose conversations are already well advanced.

The Organizing Committee is headed by the mayor of San Cristóbal: Gustavo Delgado, as president, in the company of Iván García (general coordinator), the experienced Prof. Lucas Prieto (organization coordinator), Juan Gómez (logistics coordinator), Favio Hernández (press coordinator) and Johnny Parra (audiovisual coordinator).

Although it has been customary throughout all its editions that the MCL bears the name of some media or an iconic person from the media, for this occasion it was the media who wanted to have a token of appreciation to the mayor Therefore, they decided that this eighth edition would bear the name of the Gustavo Delgado Cup.

Since he began his management in the city council, Delgado fell in love with this flagship event of previous administrations, which began under the tutelage of former mayor Mónica García, so the municipal executive decided to give it continuity.

Delgado recalled that the last edition was that of 2019 and that in 2020 it could not be carried out due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so for this opportunity it will be carried out again but with strict compliance with the prevention protocols in the face of the coronavirus.

Seniority and absences

For this edition the current champion, Disjockeo Deportivo, will seek to revalidate the title, having as a firm contender another of the founders of this competition, the CNP.

However, the last runner-up, Cantv, will want to get rid of the disappointment of the previous edition and validate himself with his first title.

The other tables already know what it is to be present in an MCL, but there are still two places left, so a newcomer could appear, as in any edition.

The President of the Organizing Committee invited the other media interested in participating to contact the organization at the telephone number 04265705052.
