The media called the launch date of the Amazon NFT platform

On April 24, tech giant Amazon will launch a Web3 initiative related to non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Writes about it The Big Whale.

According to the publication, a separate Amazon Digital Marketplace tab will appear on the company’s website. At the initial stage, access to 15 collections will be given to users from the United States, later – other countries.

The media specified that the launch of the initiative was postponed twice, allegedly due to the situation around FTX.

In the spring of 2022, Amazon CEO Andy Jesse allowed the sale of NFTs on the corporation’s platform in the future. He also stressed that he expects “significant growth” in the non-fungible token sector.

At the beginning of 2023, Blockworks, citing sources, announced the company’s plans to launch an NFT-related initiative in the spring.

Recall that in February, the Amazon Web Services platform opened the position of a specialist in the field of Web3. The position involves interaction with startups and large enterprises, development of platform services and expansion of product groups.

Earlier, The New York Times wrote about the plans of the tech giant to lay off a record 10,000 people in its history.
