The Meaning and Significance of the Nativity of Christ: A Celebration of Hope and Unity

Merry Christmas, dear readers!

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will among men!” (Luke 2:14)

According to Luke’s Gospel, this is exactly what the angels said more than 2,000 years ago to announce the truth: “An unheard-of sacrament is taking place today – God becomes man and nature is renewed” (Stichira, ch. 8).

Since then, this truth has revealed the meaning and significance of the saving event of the Incarnation.

Be healthy and happy! May there be a lot of light and love in your life!

Today, on December 25, the entire Christian world celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, because just as a new era began with him, so hope is revived every year.

The birth of the baby is described in the Gospels of Luke and Matthew, which tell about the parents of Jesus – Mary and the carpenter Joseph, a descendant of King David himself. The two traveled from the city of Nazareth to the city of Bethlehem, the birthplace of the wife. They tried to stay in an inn, but could not find a place and were forced to spend the night in a cave near the city, in which at that time the shepherds locked their sheep. It was on this night that the baby Jesus was born. According to the Gospels, an extraordinary light appeared in the sky and an angel appeared in front of the surrounding shepherds. He told them that on this holy night the Savior was born into the world and so they became the first to worship the Christian God.

On Christmas night, three eastern wise men also showed their respect for the baby – the three magicians who were attracted by a star that rose in the sky, which shone stronger and brighter than all the others. This is the star of Bethlehem, which lit up the sky before the birth of Christ, and the wise men presented royal gifts to the baby – gold for the king, frankincense for God and myrrh.

Thus begins a new era – the Savior is born. And these events marked the beginning of the holiday we call Christmas today.

Although it is associated with the Christian religion and beliefs, the Nativity of Christ is also celebrated by many countries that practice other religions. Despite their different beliefs, people all over the world see Christmas as a day that unites and brings people together. A day that makes us even a little better.

Today the name day is celebrated by: Emil, Itso, Icho, Mladen, Radomir, Radomira, Radoslav, Radoslava, Radostin, Radostina, Hristalina, Hristo, Hristi, Hristin, Hristina, Hristofor, Christina, Christian, Christiana, Christiana, Christiana.

The Nativity of Christ marks the beginning of a new calendar year. These holidays also include St. Stephen’s Day – December 27, with which the Christmas holidays end.
