The mayor of Vila-real, José Benlloch, and the Councilor for Proximity, Miriam Caravaca, have received the little Zoe Prieto Branchadell and have welcomed her after her return from the city of Boston where she has been intervened a few weeks ago to solve a severe heart disease called tetralogy of Fallot and pulmonary atresia. The little girl has been accompanied by her mother, Laura Branchadell, and her grandmother, Laura Bovea. The mayor has conveyed on behalf of the entire city the satisfaction for the success of the complex surgical intervention to which Zoe has been subjected, and which has been carried out thanks to the solidarity of citizens and institutions.
“It is a very special reception for me for the joy of seeing Zoe recovered after the operation and verifying that she is a little warrior who has come out ahead,” said the mayor who wanted to thank in a special way the “wave of solidarity by citizens and institutions so that Zoe’s family has been able to assume the high cost of the operation ”. In this sense, it should be remembered that the Vila-real City Council approved with the support of all political groups the signing of a unique agreement with the family of Zoe Prieto for the amount of 30,000 euros to contribute to the expenses of travel and stay in Boston where she has been operated on at Boston Children’s Hospital. Benlloch has stressed that “the City Council, as the administration closest to the citizens, could not be oblivious to the situation of this family, since in addition Zoe will have to be intervened again within two years.”
