The mayor of Sozopol awarded a naval officer for excellent service – 2024-08-07 12:59:06

Distinguished Service Award

The Mayor of Chernomorets, Rosen Despov, presented today, on behalf of the Municipality of Sozopol and Mayor Tihomir Yanakiev, a certificate of honor to Captain III rank Kaloyan Popov – head of the “Administrative Service” service at V.F. 32890. The occasion is the 145th anniversary of the establishment of the Naval Forces of the Republic of Bulgaria. Captain Popov also received a sea-themed painting. He was awarded for high professionalism and initiative in the performance of his official duties and for active contribution to the good cooperation of the Naval Base-Burgas with the Municipality of Sozopol.

At the official ceremony, held on the square of the Burgas Naval Base, the formation was accepted by the commander of the Navy, Rear Admiral Kiril Mihailov. He also awarded servicemen and civilians.

The regional governor of the Burgas region, Maria Neikova, presented the rear admiral with a golden badge of honor. Certificates and gifts were also presented on behalf of the Mayor of Burgas Municipality, Dimitar Nikolov, by the Commander of the Flotilla of Combat and Auxiliary Ships, Admiral Velko Velkov, and the Commander of the Burgas Naval Base, Captain I rank Petar Petrov.

The celebration was also attended by Metropolitan Arsenii of Sliven, Father Stiliyan from the city of Chernomorets, the deputy mayor of the municipality of Burgas Mihail Nenov, the mayor of the city of Chernomorets Rosen Despov and the mayor of the village of Atia Rumen Dimitrov.
