The mayor of Jonava district, Mindaugas Sinkevičius, congratulated the representatives of the Jonava volleyball club “Aušrinė” on their victories in the Lithuanian and Baltic championships, the municipality reports.
Jonava volleyball players won second place in the Baltic Volleyball League this year and won gold medals at the Lithuanian Women’s Championship.
“We are proud of your victories and thank you for making Jonava’s name famous in the volleyball arenas,” M. Sinkevičius thanked the girls.
The mayor of Jonava handed over 14.3 thousand to “Aušrine”. euro bonus for the highest achievement of the season – a place in the Baltic Championship.
Bonuses are awarded to clubs annually according to the approved description of the procedure for awarding and paying bonuses to athletes and their coaches of the Jonava District Municipal Council.
High-quality sports clubs in Jonava are encouraged not only with monetary bonuses – excellent conditions for training and competitions are created for them, which take place in the Jonava sports arena and the renovated city stadium.
