Since the independence of Mauritania, no regime has had ambitions or had a good emigration policy capable of helping the Mauritanian diaspora.
The experience of Mauritanians abroad in our embassies and consulates does not honor Mauritania and its diplomacy.
Worse, dual nationals have become ”persona-non-grata” with the new laws voted by the Mauritanian parliament in August 2022 which make us discordant with the functions of President of the Republic, heads of constitutional institutions, first minister and in particular the ministers of sectors of sovereignty such as defence, foreign affairs, national education, economy and finance and finally the heads of the armed forces and security.
Not to mention the thousands of Mauritanians in the diaspora for years who do not have their identity or administrative documents to be able to enjoy their rights as full Mauritanian citizens.
Another observation is that of the deterioration of the life of our Diaspora, through these divisions and the lack of communication; almost every community is tucked away in its own corner.
Let us remember that the true ambassadors of the Mauritanian Nation are the sons and daughters who make up our diaspora of diversity. We must carry within us this pride of belonging to such a beautiful nation, work for the influence of our geographical, linguistic, cultural and historical diversity. And above all, refusing to fall into the ethnicist and tribalist divisions that have been the work of our rulers since independence.
A united Mauritanian Diaspora that speaks with one voice is capable of changing Mauritania and creating this Nation of Honour, Fraternity and Justice.
It is in this dynamic that this Tuesday, April 4, 2023, my brother Yahya Loud (head of the list) and my person (alternate) submitted our application file for the position of deputy of the Mauritanian diaspora in North America under the colors of the FRUD party and the L`HOPE coalition for the legislative elections of May 2023 Inchaallah.
We ask our compatriots in the diaspora in North America not to choose the wrong candidates. They have to think a lot before voting for those who seek to make parliamentary status a source of wealth, donations or food assistance.
Our mission is above all to go to the hemicycle of parliament to defend laws which, after voting and promulgation, must serve to improve the living conditions of the Mauritanian diaspora.
No Mauritanian should be left behind. It will be our duty to watch over the general interest of the entire Mauritanian Diaspora in North America in all these diversities, whatever their home countries.
We will communicate as equals with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that our diplomatic and consular representations can better respond to the evolution of the current world and the geopolitical issues to meet the expectations of our diaspora.
With our social project and the framework of a vision oriented towards a diaspora of North America united in all these diversities, what interests us are the Mauritanians and Mauritania.
It is together that we will build our Mauritanian Diaspora of diversity in North America.
Voting for the ideal candidates for the Mauritanian Diaspora in North America:
Yahya Loud and Sy Abdoulaye.
NB: Inshaallah, we will come back with a more detailed program.
