The Maule Regional Theater, also known as TRM, is a Chilean theater located in the commune of Talca, Maule Region. It has a capacity to receive 1,028 people in the Theater room and was inaugurated on September 5, 2005. It is the first regional theater in Chile.
Background[editar]
The main antecedent of the TRM is the municipal theater. An enclosure that was located in the same place as the TRM and that operated with many interruptions between 1874 and 1960.
During its history, the municipal theater suffered from the various elements of nature, being highly affected by the various earthquakes that struck the city. This was demolished in 1968, after being closed due to its poor condition.
Maule Regional Theater[editar]
The TRM as such began to be managed in 1992, when the government began to get involved in the financing of the enclosure. In this way, to the contribution of various ministries and competitive funds awarded for the construction of the enclosure, donations from the Basque Country and private individuals were added, which made it possible to gather the amount necessary for the construction.
Thus, on September 5, 2005, and with the presence of various authorities, including President Ricardo Lagos, the Maule Regional Theater opens to the public.[1]

It is the main space of the theater and has a capacity of 1,028 people. It has a frontal audience arrangement towards the stage. The seats are distributed in two large areas: the stalls and the upper stalls. In the stalls it has a VIP section, where there is a direct access staircase to the stage.
It has first-rate sound and lighting elements, which at the time made it known as the most modern in South America.
Lobby[editar]
The lobby space is located at the main entrance of the theater, preceding the main room. It has a capacity of approximately 400 people. Exhibitions and ceremonies of different kinds are usually held there.}
Press room[editar]
With a capacity of 60 people. It is used especially for conferences, talks or other similar.
Administration[editar]
The venue is unique in that it is managed by the Friends of the Maule Regional Theater Corporation. This corporation is made up of various people, who represent various institutions interested in culture and arts in the region:
