The matter of lathicharge on lawyers in Ghaziabad reached the High Court. The case of lathicharge on lawyers in Ghaziabad reached the High Court: Bar Association in the petition demanded SIT investigation under the supervision of the High Court – Prayagraj (Allahabad) News

There is anger among the lawyers across the state regarding the lathi charge on lawyers in Ghaziabad. Amidst the lawyers’ strike, the Ghaziabad case has reached Allahabad High Court. Ghaziabad Bar Association complains about lathi charge and violence on lawyers in Ghaziabad court

.

The criminal petition, filed through advocate Jawahar Yadav, also sought to issue a show cause notice to the district magistrate in exercise of powers under Article 215 of the Constitution of India.

The petition demands that the respondents be restrained from taking action against the members of the Bar in the FIRs registered against the lawyers and the Police Commissioner be directed to secure the CCTV footage of the District Judge’s court and the entire court complex and appoint a SIT for effective investigation. Also includes giving instructions to send to.

Many videos are viral on social media

In fact, many videos of the lathi charge incident are going viral on social media, in which police officers can be seen lathi charging to disperse the lawyers inside the court room. At the same time, lawyers can also be seen throwing chairs.

The petition said that this incident happened when the members reached the court of District and Sessions Judge Anil Kumar for a bail matter. The presiding officer reportedly refused to hear the case or transfer it to another court.

Know what was said in the petition

It has been claimed in the petition that after this an argument started between the lawyers and the District Judge. After which the judge got angry and left his chair and came to the dais and started abusing the lawyers. He then called the police, who brutally attacked the bar members and on the request of the District Judge, CRPF was deployed in the court premises.

The petition also states that the District Judge completely exceeded his jurisdiction by directing the police officers to open fire on the lawyers and such an act is unbecoming of the post of a District Judge. And it is also contrary to the law laid down by the High Court.

The petition states that the reason for seeking investigation by the SIT is that the conduct of the police officers in throwing chairs at the lawyers and attacking them without any provocation is a subject matter of investigation.

The petition said that since the allegations prima facie point towards illegal and arbitrary actions of the higher police officials as well as the District Judge, any investigation conducted by the local police would be biased and one-sided. This matter is likely to be heard in the High Court this week.
