Twenty years after the events in The Matrix Revolutions turns out Neo is still alive. He seems to be living a normal life in San Francisco, where he is prescribed blue pills by his therapist. But when he meets Bugs, his life changes forever. That is roughly the premise of The Matrix Resurrections, chronologically the fourth installment in the franchise.
The film will finally hit theaters later this month. As part of its upcoming release, Warner Bros. finally released the final trailer. It shows that war is coming again and a gruesome battle too.

The last trailer for The Matrix Resurrections builds on what we have seen in the past months in images.
It is clear that Neo has to go down the rabbit hole again, just like he had to do in the first film in the franchise in the late 1990s.
It’s for director Lana Wachowski a personal movie; one that she indicated in the past that she had made it after the death of several loved ones in her life. The fact that she was able to return to Neo and Trinity is important to her, and it seems to be reflected in the story of this new film.
