“Regarding compulsory education, nearly 850,000 masks will be distributed this weekend, including 600,000 disposable masks and 250,000 cloth masks”, confirmed Minister-President Pierre-Yves Jeholet and Minister of Education Caroline Desire.
As confirmed by Minister Caroline Désir on Facebook, photos to support, the day of this Friday is devoted to distributing the masks in batches for the 2400 schools, the day of Saturday to the routing of the batches to the centers distribution and Sunday day distribution to school heads.
“All the masks will be distributed in schools this Sunday to allow lessons to resume on Monday. Thank you to the administration, school directors, inspectors, teachers and all those who are mobilizing for this recovery, “wrote Caroline Désir on Facebook, who obviously gave a helping hand.
As a reminder, following the delay of one of the firms, which will not supply the 300,000 masks in fabrics initially planned until next Monday, an agreement had been reached with the Federal Minister, Philippe De Backer, for the Federation to buy 600,000 masks disposable to a supplier of the Federal Government as well as to the German-speaking Community which donated 50,000 additional fabric masks to the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. These masks will allow all teachers and all students, who return this Monday, May 18, to be able to benefit from protective masks.
It should be noted that disposable protective masks are surgical masks which have been downgraded for use in a medical environment but which have been tested and approved by the Federal Medicines Agency as comfort masks, so they offer superior protection to fabric masks.
