The masked dancer made his debut Sunday night and delivered his first unmasking in the process. The Masked Singer spin-off didn’t disappoint to deliver a recognizable celebrity in its first reveal. The Masked Dancer is hosted by Craig Robinson with a panel that includes Ken Jeong, Paula Abdul, Ashley Tisdale and Brian Austin Green, who was recently spotted on vacation with Dancing With the Stars dancer Sharna Burgess.
At the premiere of his series, viewers were first unmasked as the disco ball lifted his costume, revealing it was Law & Order: SVU star and Grammy Award-winning rapper, Ice -T. He was among the 10 masked competitors and was part of Group A, which included Tulip, Exotic Bird, Hammerhead and Cricket with the disco ball. Ice-T escalated with a performance of “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars. Afterward, the judges tried to decipher who was behind the costume, finding Ice-T to be more LL Cool J, as Green guessed. Other candidates included Smokey Robinson, Ving Rhames and Lionel Richie. Sticking to the formula of its parent show, the identity of each competitor is evoked with various clues. For Ice-T, hers included a “Serve and Protect” message paying homage to her hit television role and a more nose-hint included an image of a pitcher of iced tea.
OMG! See who lit up that scene behind Disco Ball – spoiler alert: we weren’t ready for this! ????

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly about his untimely departure, the multi-talented celebrity said he was a great dancer back in the dancer and knew he wouldn’t have been able to tap into that like he previously did in because of his age. He joked that he didn’t care to make a fool of himself because his identity would have been a secret anyway. “When I was dancing I was like ‘You know if I’m terrible it doesn’t matter because nobody knows who I am. “And by the time they know who I am, I don’t need to dance anymore,” he explained. He also talked about the process of keeping everything so hidden and how he didn’t have much practice time beforehand and neither of the performers got a chance to choose their son or routine. . His time there only lasted a weekend, which has worked out well for his SVU filming schedule which will run throughout May after the Christmas break.
