The mask is no longer required at the office if everyone in the room is vaccinated

If at least ten days have elapsed since the complete immunization, employees vaccinated against COVID-19 are exempted from wearing a mask at the office if all persons in the room are vaccinated, according to an order from the Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. (MAI), published on Friday in the Official Gazette. It entered into force on the date of publication, ie 14 May 2021.

According to Order no. 699/67/2021, which considers the amendment of the Order of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Interior no. 874/81/2020 on the imposition of the obligation to wear a protective mask, employees fully immunized against coronavirus do not wear a protective mask at the office, if at least ten days have elapsed since the recall, in the case of two-dose or single-dose vaccines, in the Johnson & Johnson vaccine case. This only applies to offices where all people are vaccinated.

Thus, according to the provisions of the mentioned order, “depending on the risk assessment, performed by the occupational medicine doctor of the unit, there may be some exceptions, as follows: […] the employee is alone in the office / all the people in the office are vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus for which 10 days have passed since the completion of the complete vaccination schedule ”.

Also, according to the Decision of the National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU) no. 29/2021, at the beginning of August, it will be decided, depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation, whether or not to completely give up the protective mask, in closed and open spaces.

We remind you that the protective mask is no longer mandatory in uncrowded open spaces, according to the official relaxation measures starting with May 15th.

This is only the first stage of a relaxation plan for which there is a proposed timetable for the next stages, which is included in the CNSU decision. Thus, if the objectives of the vaccination campaign are met and depending on the new cases of infection, relaxation stages are proposed for 1 June, 1 July and 1 August.

Romania is currently on alert, which has been officially extended until June 11.
