This July 16, the prefect of Tarn-et-Garonne signed a decree making it compulsory to wear a mask in the streets of downtown Montauban, Moissac and Castelsarrasin, the three main cities, 8:00 a.m. to midnight.
Until then, as everywhere else, wearing a mask was compulsory on public roads outside in Tarn-et-Garonne only in markets, near stations or in queues, in short where social distancing is difficult to respect.
A lower incidence rate, however, than Haute-Garonne, Ariège or Aude
The incidence rate of Tarn-et-Garonne is however not the most impressive in Occitanie: 48 cases per 100,000 inhabitants for the week of July 7 to 13, with a positivity rate of 1.7%. It is below the alert threshold of 50, and it is well below the 260 cases per 100,000 of the Pyrénées-Orientales who have just reinstated the wearing of the compulsory mask throughout the department.
The measure is valid in Montauban, Castelsarrasin and Moissac until August 7, at least.
