The Marshal of the Podkarpacie Region filed motions to recall coalition partners from the voivodeship board

Władysław Ortyl, the Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, did not wait for the end of the talks at Nowogrodzka Street on the future of the ruling coalition. A local politician has already filed motions to dismiss members of the Agreement and Solidarity Poland from the voivodeship board.

– Due to the unnecessary disturbance of the stability of the management board and the incomprehensible behavior of two coalition partners, it is necessary to take preventive action in the form of changes in the composition of the voivodeship management board. The position in the voivodeship management board is also governed by the coalition agreement of the United Right, which has ceased to exist – Tomasz Leyko, the spokesman for the Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, told the media.

He also informed that Marshal Władysław Ortyl has already filed a motion to recall Stanisław Kruczek, a representative of the Agreement, and Anna Huk from Solidarity Poland from the Podkarpacie board. The applications are to be considered next Monday.

Therefore, the Marshal did not wait for the Law and Justice to formally dissolve the coalition with Jarosław Gowin’s Agreement and Zbigniew Ziobro’s Solidarity Polska. As the marshal himself pointed out, the positions filled by the Agreement and Solidarna Polska resulted from an agreement at the national level. So either there is an agreement or there is no one and this is followed by consistent actions of the marshal, which have the character of implementing a political agreement – explained Władysław Ortyl, Marshal of the Podkarpackie Province.

As he added, in his opinion “the balance of power in the regional council is stable”. – PiS has the vast majority of seats there and I think that we will continue to exercise power effectively – assessed the official.

In the 33-person sejmik of the Podkarpackie voivodeship, the PiS club currently has 25 councilors, but the Agreement has three councilors, and Solidarna Polska – two. The opposition is the Civic Coalition – five councilors and PSL – three.

– If the Podkarpackie Marshal dismisses our representative from the board of this voivodeship, we will leave the PiS clubs – United Right across Poland – announced on Monday morning (September 21) the secretary general of the Agreement, and also the deputy marshal of Podlasie, Stanisław Derehajło, quoted by Gazeta Wyborcza. However, as he assessed a few hours later in an interview with TVN24, in his opinion, there will be no split between PiS and the United Right.

The coalition is gone?

The crisis has come after voting in the Sejm on the draft amendment to the act on animal protection. Despite the discipline, 38 MPs from the PiS club, including all members of Solidarity Poland and two from the Agreement, voted against the bill. Fifteen other MPs from Jarosław Gowin’s party abstained. “No” votes were cast by, among others, Agriculture Minister Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski (PiS) and Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro (SP).

The most important politicians from Law and Justice emphasized that such behavior of the coalition partners would mean the end of the coalition.

On Friday, by the decision of the president of Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński 15 MPs were suspended from membership of the party, including the Minister of Agriculture Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski – said the head of the PiS executive committee Krzysztof Sobolewski on Friday.
