The Marriage Scandal: Groom Revealed to be a Woman After Ceremony

CIANJUR, KOMPAS.com – Before marrying I (23) in a series, AH (25), the groom, who turned out to be a woman, had to go back and forth to the Religious Affairs Office (KUA) Sukaresmi District, Cianjur Regency, West Java.

The head of KUA Sukaresmi, Dadang Abdullah Kamaludin, said that AH had come for consultation and asked the headman to marry him.

“But, when we asked for his residence identity, he didn’t want to give it,” said Dadang when met by Kompas.com at his office, Friday (8/12/2023).

AH argued that his personal documents were still in Kalimantan and promised to give them to the KUA after marriage. However, Dadang still refused.

Dadang and the KUA officers became increasingly suspicious because AH insisted on getting married, while AH did not want to provide his identity documents.

“My staff said it didn’t look like a man. They keep asking for their identity data, they don’t want to give it for various reasons. But isn’t it ethical to ask, ‘Are you a man or a woman? “So, at that time we were just guessing,” he said.

However, AH then informed the KUA that he would continue to carry out the marriage in a serial manner.

“I said no, I can deal with it, I’ll call them later. The girl’s parents also came here and we gave them the understanding, ‘please be careful when choosing a mate, especially since this is a distant person, he doesn’t have an identity’,” said Dadang.

Later, Dadang received news that the wedding had been held in a series at the bride’s house.

Previously it was reported that people in Pakuon Village, Sukaresmi District, Cianjur Regency, West Java, were shocked by the marriage between women in the village.

It is known that the couple had the initials AH (25) who initially claimed to be the man and the bride had the initials I (23).

AH’s gender was only discovered after one day of marriage.
