The march for the climate of Lille in 10 signs

They were several hundred this Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Lille (Nord) to participate in a big march for the climate. All determined to make things change.

The war in Ukraine in all speeches

First announced from the Grand’Place, the meeting was finally moved to the Porte de Paris. What upset several demonstrators who had not had the information.

But nothing to demotivate them either. In almost all the words heard, the war in Ukraine was mentioned. For its violence of course, but also because it is a turning point for many of the demonstrators.

“The answers given to the war are bad from an environmental point of view”, thus believes Gilles. And his friend Bénédicte continues: “our problems of energy dependence will be resolved by ecological transition. She is the solution here”.

Beyond the speeches, the demonstrators had as often shown a lot of imagination for their placards and slogans. We have selected ten that sum up the afternoon and the state of mind of the participants.
