With three appointments in the DRk blood donation center, each participant can award a point to a club of their choice in the city’s blood donation sports association. New donor points count double.
At the time of registering for the blood donation, each donor receives a ballot paper with all the sports clubs of the city sports club. With his cross, the volunteer awards the point (s) for a club of his choice. Donors do not necessarily have to belong to a club, because relatives, acquaintances and friends can also be mobilized for a club of their choice. In other words: even “fans” can become active.
Attractive club cash prizes
At the end of the campaign, the clubs with the most points will receive attractive cash prizes to promote joint activities: 1st prize – 750 euros, 2nd prize – 500 euros, 3rd prize – 250 euros. In addition, the association with the largest number of new donors receives a special bonus of 250 euros from the patron.
In this context, thanks were also expressed to the sponsors Sparkasse Lemgo, Volksbank Bad Salzuflen and Stadtwerke Bad Salzuflen. Mayor Dirk Tolkemitt praised the commitment of the city sports association, which, as explained by speaker Michael Prautzsch of the West blood donation service, had at the time moved closer to the DRK, something unique to date. “Otherwise we will have to go,” Prautzsch said.
Incidentally, the number of new donors in 2021 was again very good, according to SSV press spokesman Michael Schüler, because the rate of increase in relation to all donors was increased by another 17% compared to 2020. Now it is hoped that there will be many new donors again this year. Technically, Matthias Schalk also claimed that anyone who wanted to donate blood had to be 18 and feel healthy (new donors were no older than 68). Present your ID card and, if you have one, your blood donation card at your blood donation appointment.
“Help other people in urgent need of a blood transfusion and win the 15th blood donation marathon in Bad Salzuflen with your club,” said sports association president Andreas Woite in his closing statement.
