Entrepreneurs, craftsmen, self-employed workers. Many are opting for the third place in the professional context, highlights France 2, Wednesday March 17. These shared spaces are in the process of making us rethink our way of working and economic development. In the Poitou countryside, the factories of Ligugé and its former spinning mill are entitled to a second life. Inside the premises, a graphic designer is working on a school textbook, while entrepreneurs are training in laser cutting.
The crafts also work together. In the workshop, a blacksmith and two carpenters share their tools and running costs. “75% to 80% of my initial turnover, it was really the people who came here and the influence of the factories. When we start and there is already all this in front of us, it’s very encouraging for the future“, testifies Léo Malloigne, a craftsman, delighted to live the experience of the third place. In 10 years, 30 companies have set up on the site of the Ligugé factories. The shared spaces would therefore make it possible to develop the economy. at the local level.
