National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo prohibit members from doing manual ticket to avoid fraudulent loopholes. Under the direction of the Chief of the National Police, Polantas members are now focusing on traffic regulation and the provision of community services.
Polda Metro traffic director Jaya Kombes Latif Usman said eliminating this manual ticketing system doesn’t mean Polantas members aren’t on the streets. The Polanta remain in the field to provide traffic management services.
“(Members focus on) regulation, maintenance, service. When it comes to lawsuits, everyone has used electronics,” Latif Usman told detik.comThursday (10/27/2022).
Latif said Polantas members will monitor and regulate traffic at points prone to congestion and traffic violations. Meanwhile, ticketing is now fully done electronically via the e-TLE camera (law enforcement agencies of electronic traffic).
The problem therefore is that not all road points in the capital are covered by e-TLE. So what if the police detect a violation in a place that isn’t covered by e-TLE?
“Yes, members can still impose fines, but not by stopping the vehicle,” he said.
Latif said Polantas staff are now also equipped with cell phones that can record violations. Therefore, if a member sees a violation in plain sight in a place that is not monitored by e-TLE, the member can issue a penalty.
“So members can still impose fines without stopping the vehicle, just stay capture, enter to the active e-TLE application cell phone members, “he said.
Basically, ticket office via the e-TLE application system from cell phone official how it works like static e-TLE.
“There is already a static e-TLE, it’s the same, it’s just a different method. So the device will automatically register on the mobile because there is an application on the mobile,” he explained.
