The Mangin-Beaulieu sports complex closed after a fire

No sporting event was disputed at Mangin-BeaulieuThis weekend. The Ile de Nantes sports complex is in fact closed “until further notice” following a fire that occurred on Saturday. At around 11 am, the fire broke out in the electrical room, “generating a power cut across the entire site”, reports the Nantes town hall. Firefighters intervened and were able to extinguish the fire. The people were evacuated, without the slightest injury.

The 2,500-seat indoor hall is no longer in working order. A major annoyance since it is home to two professional women’s clubs: the VB Nantes (volleyball) and the Neptunes (handball). The adjacent tennis hall and the synthetic field are also closed.

“The services of the City of Nantes and Nantes Métropole will meet from Monday, December 13 to assess the damage and schedule the repair work”, indicates the town hall.
