The Mandela Effect Strikes Again: The Truth About Darth Vader’s Famous Line in Star Wars

Billions remembered it wrong.

“Star Wars” is a cult film series that is known all over the world. The first episodes about the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia were filmed in the late 70s and early 80s, but they are still loved more than the new parts of the franchise.

Even those who haven’t seen the movie know him by his odious phrases: “May the Force be with you” and, of course, “Luke, I am your father.”

Only Darth Vader never said that. Billions of viewers remembered his line incorrectly. There is a short dialogue between the “villain” and Luke Skywalker. Here’s what it actually sounds like:

-You killed my father! – declares the Jedi.

– No. “I am your father,” the Sith Lord replies.

Of course, the difference is small. But there was no appeal in the replica initially. It was added later – because it is more convenient to quote the phrase out of context. It is immediately clear who we are talking about. However, many viewers are very surprised that Vader does not say any “Luke”.
