The mayor promises easier travel to Kutná Hora and revitalization of the city center from the new terminal.
The management of Kutná Hora wants to build a transport terminal that will simplify traveling to the city and changing between trains and buses. A city should be created at the Kutná Hora train station, and a platform for buses can be built on the adjacent land. However, the representatives should still vote on the project, Mayor Lukáš Seifert (ODS) told journalists on Thursday.
He reminded that the terminal has been talked about in the city for a long time. A study was also created, which, according to him, did not respect the needs of carriers and, for example, turning radii. The management of the town hall would like to continue the preparations, but they want to have a clear mandate from the council.
“This is something that will be implemented in its entirety, perhaps in eight years. We need the council to say if we should go in that direction. We wouldn’t like it if we prepared something and it fit in a drawer,” said the mayor.
The new terminal promises easier travel to Kutná Hora and revitalization of the city center. It will enable a so-called dry-foot transfer from the bus to the train, at the same time it will be connected to Prague integrated transport.
After the completion of the terminal, the existing bus station should be used temporarily for parking tourist buses, its further purpose will still be discussed. “These are some of the most interesting plots of land in Kutná Hora,” Seifert pointed out.
