The Segovia Healthcare Management keeps open the possibility of introducing changes in the decision to concentrate in three points of the province, –Segovia, Cuéllar and Cantalejo-, the entire vaccination process against Covid-19, a measure that has been harshly criticized from rural areas. “The evolution of the process will be re-evaluated, as we have done so far, since other changes may always be necessary.”Has stated the Management led by Jorge Elizaga in response to the recriminations made by various city councils in the province and political parties.
The reorganization of vaccination that has been carried out in the different health centers of the province and in the pavilion Pedro Delgado, of Segovia, will mean that as of Monday, June 14, the residents of many towns will be forced to make trips to Cantalejo, Cuéllar O Segovia to receive your dose against Covid.
“We regret the inconvenience, but concentrating the resources in three points of the province allows us to optimize them.s ”, assures the Management, making specific reference to the improvement of nursing care in each health center. Health managers argue that “if nurses have to vaccinate, they cannot perform other equally important functions.”
In addition, the Sacyl provincial team maintains that the measure, now criticized in Segovia, is applied in other provinces of the Community, in the rest of Spain, in Europe, and in the United States. “We – the Segovian leadership states – have delayed its application for as long as possible.”. The provincial team understands that now that the age range of those called to receive the vaccine has dropped and the process reaches young people and in general terms with good mobility, it is the “right” time to group the campaign into three locations. They also assert that “Since the beginning of the vaccination we have gone to residences, to the homes of dependent patients, to practically all health centers”.
Second dose for 2,000 teachers

More than 2,180 teachers have been called to receive the second dose between yesterday (1,050 summoned) and today Friday, June 11 (1,131). They are the teachers who between March 25, 26 and 29 received the first dose of AstraZeneca and now they can complete the pattern.
The campaign is aimed at teachers who will be 60 years old or over this age in 2021. In this case, the vaccine to be applied is AstraZeneca. On the other hand, there are those under 60 who can continue with AstraZeneca or choose to receive Pfizer in this second dose but they must complete and sign an informed consent stating that they are aware of the advantages and adverse reactions of the vaccine.
