The Man Who Was Attracted By The Viral Orangutan At The Zoo Apologizes

Hasanal Arifin (19), creator of orangutan-drawn content at Kasang Kulim Zoo, Kampar, Riau apologize. Hasanal admitted his mistake for not asking permission to create content.

“I want to apologize for this act because I have crossed the zoo’s guardrail. I apologize for the viral video,” Hasanul said via a video as quoted from secondsNorth SumatraWednesday (8/6/2022).

The Riau Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA) also responded to the viral video. BBKSDA Riau ensures that the cage is up to standard.

The investigation team led by the Head of the Utilization and Service Section, Arry Purnama, immediately went to the location to confirm this. Kasang Kulim Zoo manager, Ides, confirmed that the incident occurred on Monday (6/6) yesterday.

“At that time, HA, Manyar Sakti residents deliberately took advantage of the carelessness of the officers during breaks to create content by crossing the animal enclosure guardrail. The manager found out after the news went viral on social media,” he said.

The team then checked the orangutan cage. The cage has met the requirements where there is a barrier with a safe enough distance for visitors. They have even been given a warning sign not to feed the animals and pass through the guardrail.
