The man was supposed to impersonate the PlayStation 5 as a Wi-Fi router to deceive his wife

A story has appeared on Facebook that sounds so absurd that it casts doubt on its veracity. On the other hand, this incident is definitely funny and shows the ingenuity of some men in how to get a game console into the house despite the disapproval of a girlfriend or wife. The Vietnamese reportedly longed for PlayStation 5 so much that he devised a brilliant plan. He used the unusual design of a novelty from Sony, which according to some opinions resembles an overgrown router rather than a game console. That’s why the purchased PlayStation 5 disguised itself as a router for connecting to Wi-Fi.

In order for the effect to be perfect, the man had to arrange with the worker who came to install the console. He fitted it with the uniform of the local telecommunications operator Viettel and asked him to act as if he had arrived for an internet connection. A label with a telephone number for the operator’s customer service was even affixed to the side of the console. It is not clear whether everything really went as described by social networks. On the other hand, it is quite a clever plan to buy a game console even if other members of the household do not agree. Not everyone has an overview of what is happening in the world of technology, so it would certainly not be surprising if someone confused PlayStation 5 with another device.

On the other hand, documenting this plan and showing it off on social networks, from where it will start spreading around the world, is not the best idea. Therefore, it can be assumed that rather than a serious plan, it was a joke of the author, or perhaps some kind of viral advertising. In any case, there have been several cases where PS5 seekers have tried to deceive their wife by forbidding them from buying a console. A man from Taiwan allegedly pretended the new game console to be an air purifier. The story hit social media after the woman uncovered the scam and forced her husband to sell a PlayStation. This was supposed to happen at the end of last year, when there was a real shortage of consoles from Sony and stores therefore reported empty warehouses.

Jin Wu therefore sought a second-hand console. Most retailers took advantage of demand in excess of supply and sold the PS5 to eager buyers for several times the original price. In one of the advertisements, however, the console was offered at a suspiciously low price. Jin Wu arranged a personal handover, during which he found out the reason for the sale of the PS5. The woman found out that it was not an air purifier, as her husband claimed, so she ordered him to get rid of the console quickly. The case subsequently became viral and was reported by the Taiwanese and later foreign media.
