A man who was likely involved in a fight in Jodenbreestraat in Suriname around 12:50 this afternoon was injured in the hand. The victim turned to the market police for help.
The ambulance was called and arrived at the scene after 35 minutes. As the man was bleeding profusely, a media worker offered first aid by wrapping his upper arm with a cloth.
At one point, the Surinamese police ordered the media operator to leave the post, because he wanted to take a picture of the situation.
Police at the Centrum resort are investigating the matter further.
UPDATE: The 47-year-old victim is known to the police as a quarrel. She had a glass bottle in her hand and had a fight with another man. At one point, the other man pushed him, causing him to fall. The fighter was injured by the glass fragments.
