Members of the Indonesian Parliament from the Gerindra Faction, Fadli Zon, ‘flicking’ the policy of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan which allows times opened, however grave pilgrimage in public burial places (TPU) prohibited. According to Fadli Zon, Anies’ policy disturbs the sense of justice.
This was revealed by Fadli Zon on his official Twitter account, Friday (14/3/2021). Fadli Zone mentioned Anies Baswedan’s official account in his tweet.
“P @aniesbaswedan, it is better that the mall is closed, the pilgrimage club in TPU is not opened. This disturbs the sense of justice,” said Fadli Zon.
The funeral pilgrimage activity in Jakarta will be canceled on 12-16 May 2021. Anies announced this decision after a meeting with heads of other regions around Jakarta.
Fadli Zon also mentioned the issue of malls being allowed to open even though activities in closed spaces, while the pilgrimage to the graves in open spaces is prohibited. Fadli Zon asked about the dangers of activities in malls or cemeteries during the pandemic.
“Malls in closed spaces with air conditioning, TPU in open spaces. Which is more dangerous?” said Fadli.
Anies Baswedan previously confirmed that public burial sites in Jakarta remain closed for pilgrimages the next day and the day after tomorrow. The pilgrimage to the grave was only permitted starting Monday (17/5).
Anies said that the funeral pilgrimage was allowed at the same time as tourist attractions were allowed to receive visitors without a Jakarta ID card while still limiting the number of arrivals to 30 percent of normal capacity.
“As of Sunday, May 16, after that the grave pilgrimage site was opened. Then also the tourist attractions remained at 30 percent, but they did not have to carry a DKI ID card,” said Anies as reported by Antara, Friday (14/5).
