Beneath his powerful build hides a tender, loyal, affectionate and sensitive heart. Instinctively protective and devoted, he is endowed with unfailing courage.
To defend his family or his territory, he will never hesitate to put himself in danger, sometimes at the risk of his life. Nowadays, it is a working dog very appreciated by many trades, such as the army, the police or the firefighters.
Very playful, he enjoys the company of children, with whom he is always gentle and kind. Tireless, and endowed with an exceptional flair, the Malinois is a real whirlwind!
To channel his overflowing energy, he needs to be stimulated several hours a day, physically and intellectually, through varied and intense activities.
He will prefer life in the countryside or in a large house with a garden, but will be able to adapt to living in an apartment if he is frequently outside. From an early age, the Malinois must benefit from a firm and benevolent education.
Exposure to various environments, humans and animals is also essential to socialize it, otherwise it will become aggressive or destructive as it grows and escapes the control of its masters who will eventually abandon it.
