The majority shareholder of Béziers “definitively renounces” the takeover – Fil info – Pro D2

The majority shareholder of Béziers (Pro D2), Louis-Pierre Angelotti, has decided to “give up definitively” on the plan to take over the rugby club, against a backdrop of controversy with the other candidate for the takeover, of the Emirati investors represented by former international Christophe Dominici. Real estate developer and sponsor of the ASBH for 20 years, Mr. Angelotti explained that he had “suffered serious insults and unacceptable and unbearable threats”. The club announced Tuesday that the takeover project carried by Mr. Angelotti, associated with the former president of the Stade Toulousain Jean-René Bouscatel, had been retained.

In the aftermath, the mayor of the city, Robert Ménard, said he was “surprised” to “see the press release from the club stating the appointment of Mr. Bouscatel” and had announced his intention to bring together “everyone around ‘a table”. Angelotti, one of the main players in the ASBH takeover project, had become chairman of the club’s supervisory board with eleven French champion titles in the past week. His withdrawal therefore relaunches the Emirati project, led by Dominici, which still claimed to want to “build a great team, with national and international players”.
