“The main thing is that the marriage is strong”: seven legal wives of Igor Sarukhanov

“He did it again!” – the fans of the singer, poet and composer Igor Sarukhanov were amazed. Recently, the 66-year-old performer of the songs “My Dear Old Men”, “Violin-Fox” and other hits admitted that he got married again. “Seventh, fifth or millionth – does not play any role. The most important thing is that the marriage is strong. This is how I feel about it, ”said the musician to dumbfounded journalists and admirers.

With a song for life

During his career, Sarukhanov wrote more than three hundred songs, released at least twenty albums. He was born in Samarkand, but is Armenian by nationality.

Igor was four when his family moved from the Uzbek USSR to Moscow. In the capital, Igor graduated not only from general education, but also from a music school – in the class of classical guitar.

Sarukhanov was almost expelled from the regular school. He began to perform in cafes and on dance floors, receiving money for this. This was considered unthinkable for a minor Komsomol member.

Instead of the traditional army service, Igor was assigned to the song and dance ensemble of the Moscow Military District. There the musician met Stas Namin. Later he was most directly related to the famous VIA “Blue Bird” and “Flowers”.

The first disc-giant Sarukhanov as a singer “If we are on the way” was released in 1986. After Igor received the first prize for the song “Moscow Space” during the World Festival of Youth and Students in the capital of the USSR in 1985.

And back in 1984, the musician was awarded the first prize at the International Festival in Sopot – as the author of the composition “Behind a sharp turn”, which was very popular at the time, performed by Anne Veski.

With whom Igor Armenovich collaborated as a poet and composer – with Tynis Myagi, Sergei Chelobanov, Alexander Marshal, Vladimir Presnyakov and other performers who were successful in the domestic show business.

“I wonder how I didn’t get drunk then”

Igor’s first wife was circus artist Olga Tatarenko. The romantic feelings of the couple crashed into everyday life. The marriage did not last even a year. The union of the musician with an archaeologist named Nina turned out to be stronger – the couple lasted together for five years.

Then in the life of Sarukhanov there was a purebred gypsy, a singer, whose name was Angela. But these relationships also fizzled out. When Igor met fashion designer Lena Lenskaya, he was only a step away from the abyss.

“I wonder how I didn’t get drunk then. Lenochka helped me, she appeared, God bless her, she is my friend, ”the artist admits. During the alliance with Lena Sarukhanov wrote many famous songs, including “Violin-Fox”.

Why did they break up? “There was some kind of mild crisis. I don’t know what happened, this is the most mysterious story, ”the musician cast a shadow over the wattle fence.

Evil tongues claimed that even during her marriage to him, Lenskaya was carried away by Vladimir Presnyakov Jr., who became her next husband. Sarukhanov assures that there was nothing of the sort. That the affair between Vladimir and Lena happened after the divorce.

I was not ready for children even at 35

The fifth wife of a temperamental musician is a ballerina and model Ekaterina Golubeva. They say that this passion of Igor Armenovich was especially demanding and even capricious. The couple often quarreled both before and after the wedding.

Against the background of the fifth wife, the benevolent and sweet Tatyana Kostycheva looked quite advantageous. She began working for Sarukhanov as a director. The working relationship turned into a romantic one. It came down to the kids too. The artist then already exceeded 50.

“Even at thirty-five I was not ready to take on such responsibility as a child, I didn’t imagine myself as a parent! As soon as the children were born, I realized why I live, ”the artist did not hide.

Now in the past and Tatyana. The marriage collapsed, despite the appearance of the daughters of Lyubov and Rosalia. After the termination, the artist claimed:

“We are in such an intelligent amicable divorce. When you enter the registry office, you promise this woman to grow old with her. I have been frivolous many times. But, unfortunately, only now I begin to understand it».

Since December 2022, the seventh wife of Igor Armenovich is clothing designer Lesya Sadovskaya. She is also significantly younger than Sarukhanov. “In marriage, he began to love me much more. And I him too!” – says the newly-baked wife.

Igor Armenovich hopes for the appearance of his son and, apparently, is in euphoria: “Maybe all the previous “times” were needed for this. Looking at my beautiful wife, I wrote a new track “One in a Million” and it was very well received.”
