National highway 80 is closed between Bodø and Fauske due to a mudslide. There is a risk of more landslides, so the road is closed until further notice.
A new assessment will be made at 2 p.m., informs the Swedish Traffic Agency. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration does not know when the road will be reopened.
The southern landslide that occurred on Sunday morning was not large, but it is feared that more landslides may occur.
– It is difficult to say with the terrible rain that can lead to lots of slush and avalanches. There have been fatal accidents there before, and we have that in mind, says traffic operator Brita Bjerkli.
