the main narrator of the USSR suffered a bitter fate

The famous actress could not forgive the betrayal of herself.

Actress Anastasia Zueva has played dozens of major roles in theater and film in her life, earned the title of People’s Artist of the USSR and the respect of her peers on stage and on set. But for millions of Russians, she remained forever a grandmother-storyteller of the legendary Alexander Row film: Frost, Fire, Water and Copper Pipes, Golden Horns.

Unlike a successful career, in the personal life of Anastasia Platonovna, everything was far from so peaceful. In the early 1930s, the actress brought home a girl, whom she met near the Moscow hotel. She raised her as an adopted daughter. Unfortunately, at some point, the actress was repaid with a black ingratitude: her pupil took the artist’s husband, the famous theater composer Viktor Oransky, from the family.

A few years later, when the Great Patriotic War began, Oransky reappeared at the door of Zueva’s house, moreover, with a child in her arms: the former lover left them and went to another admirer. Anastasia Platonovna hosted them and helped them survive the difficult war years.

Of course, it was no longer possible to talk about resuming relations with her ex-husband, because Zuev could not forgive the betrayal. However, when she Anastasia Platonovna died in 1986, she was buried right next to her Viktor Oransky.
