The main Memorial Day ceremony for the ultra-orthodox public

Over 1,200 members of the ultra-Orthodox community participated in a moving ceremony to commemorate the martyrs of the IDF held at Hichal Shlomo in Jerusalem. The evening was dedicated to the memory of the martyrs of the ultra-Orthodox IDF, including the servants of the first ultra-Orthodox army and the martyrs of the ultra-orthodox service tracks that exist today in the IDF.

The evening was attended by Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar, a member of the Council of Torah Sages HaGaon Rabbi David Yosef, members of the bereaved families, members of the rabbis of the Netzach Yehuda Association, the head of the recruitment division at the Ministry of Defense, Mr. Udi Dror, the Regent of the Torah, Brigadier General Amir Wadmani, the head of the Haredim Directorate Lt. Col. Rabbi Amir Zozot, representatives of the IDF and the Haredim Directorate, Haredi soldiers and graduates, rabbis and public figures. The government representatives at the ceremony were Minister Chaim Biton, Minister of Communications Shlomo Karai, Minister of Heritage Amihai Eliyahu, Knesset Members Yoni Meshariki, Avraham Bezalel, Erez Malol and the former MK Maj. Gen. Uzi Dayan.

The CEO of Netzach Yehuda Association Yossi Levy said: “This is the fifth year of the tradition we founded, an evening where all ends of the people of Israel, religious and traditional, pure Torah students alongside holy warriors come together to bear the burden of bereavement, to support the abyss of pain without balm of the dear families to us of all. The ultra-Orthodox public is no longer left behind, but participates in the memory of the IDF martyrs in a respectful and appropriate manner and in the spirit of the Torah.”

The representative of the government Minister Haim Biton (Shas) spoke and said: “The human fabric that exists in this hall, at the special evening organized by the Netzah Yehuda association. Proves to our concern that bereavement is the lot of the entire nation. It is an evening that transmits unity and strength, along with preserving the tradition of Israel. Unity is the key word and the answer to Israel haters who want our brides.”

Mr. Udi Dror, Head of the Division for Recruitment and Torah Pathways at the Ministry of Defense: “I wish to bring to you, dear bereaved families, our appreciation. Every day of the year you carry with you the great pain, for the unbearable loss, for lives that were taken and are not. Your sons, our dear fallen soldiers In sacrifice and holiness, they left a glorious legacy. The ultra-Orthodox soldiers and commanders continue their journey as God-fearing Jews who believe in the yoke of the Torah and mitzvot.”
