Bonn A striking building in Bonn is history: in the course of the demolition work on the site of the former Zurich Insurance, the main building on Poppelsdorfer Allee has now also disappeared.
It will turn out as Tobias Wahl predicted two weeks ago: The main building of the former Zurich Insurance on Poppelsdorfer Allee has disappeared. According to the managing director of the Remagen demolition company Wahl, everything went according to a precise schedule: First the large building was gutted and cleaned. Then a static analysis followed before the excavators removed everything.

For many walkers this was a spectacle. There is hardly anyone who does not stop for a few minutes and watch the work. Corpus Sireo, a subsidiary of Swiss Life AG, will later build houses, shops and offices on the approximately 24,500 square meter site. A kindergarten with four groups is also to be built. 280 new apartments are to be built in two construction phases, 59 of which are socially subsidized. The first apartments should be ready in 2023/24.
