Newcastle United achieved brilliant results in Saint Stephen after the demolition Leicester City 3-0. The Magpies moved up to second place Premier League standings.
In the match which was played at King Power Stadium on Monday (26/12/2022) WIB night, Newcastle fielded their best side. They played aggressively from the very first minutes.
The result was a second-minute penalty after Joelinton was brought down by Daniel Amartey. Chris Wood, who was the executor, coolly kicked the ball into the center and outsmarted Danny Ward who moved wide left.
The goal made Newcastle even more eager to put pressure on the Leicester defence. They quickly doubled their lead in the seventh minute.
Miguel Almiron punched from the right and successfully penetrated the host defense, after playing a 1-2 pass with Bruno Guimaraes. Almiron needed two touches before he could put the ball into Ward’s goal.

Winning two goals to make Newcastle more comfortable in control of the game. This was his 15th goal in the first half of 16 games this season, trailing only Manchester City’s 20.
Leicester tried to threaten with Patson Daka’s speed, but it was still difficult to get into Nick Pope’s goal. Newcastle were able to add a goal in the 32nd minute, changing the score to 3-0.
Kieran Trippier sent the ball in from a corner and Joelinton nodded to beat Ward’s goal.
After the first half ended 3–0 up, Newcastle slowed down in the second half and allowed Leicester to have the ball.
In the 61st minute Newcastle’s goal was nearly broken when their defense were unable to anticipate Harvey Barnes’ movement. The ball that hit Sven Botman just rolled past the goal.
No more goals were created in the second half and Newcastle United has the right to move up to second place in the Premier League table with 33 points from 16 games. This is the sixth straight win for Eddie Howe’s men and it continues their undefeated streak since week five.
Leicester City dropped to 13th place with 17 points.
