(ANSA) – PADUA SEPT 27 – Giotto, with his incomparable Scrovegni Chapel and cycles of 14th-century frescoes from the Urbs Picta in Padua, arrives in New York in a special exhibition titled “The Magic of Giotto” that will run from November 8 to January 31, 2024 and will be open to visitors at the Italian Cultural Institute.
The heart of the exhibition is the immersive experience, created by Hidonix INC – a company specialized in Spatial Intelligence, Extended Reality and Artificial Intelligence – which in the Institute’s conference room will allow the public to move virtually inside the Scrovegni Chapel, thanks to a its innovative high-definition holographic reproduction made possible thanks to HoloLens headsets.
In the other rooms, touch screens and graphic panels that can be scanned using Hidonix’s “Image Recognition” technology and without the limitations of the most common QR codes will allow a dialogue with Giotto’s legacy, in-depth analysis of the innovations contributed by the artist. to the Scrovegni Chapel, knowledge of the rich artistic heritage of Padua and its intellectual heritage.
The emotion and amazement of the visitors will be completed with the exhibition of one of Guariento’s masterpieces, a 90 x 58 cm tempera on panel identified as an angel sitting on a bench, on loan from the Civic Museums of Padua.
